Culture Pass

This is a program that anyone in the greater Phoenix area might be interested in:

You can check out their website to read all about it. Basically, anyone with a library card for one of the main libraries in the Valley can get 4 free admission tickets to one of 12 local attractions such as museums, zoo, botanical garden etc. for FREE. Only a limited number of tickets are available at each branch on any given day, and it's first come, first serve. I checked the libraries near my house for what was available before heading out the door to one of them. You can simply search for the keywords "culture pass".

This program is limited to one package of tickets per library card per week. Because of our family's size, I have to check out two of the same passes on separate cards, which is allowed.

This week, I am planning on taking the kids to the Children's Museum and the Heard Museum. Plus, I am trying to get tickets to take them to the zoo next week.

Even if you do not live in or around Phoenix, you should check to see if your city offers a similar program. When we lived in the Chicago area, all the major museums and attractions were free to residents on Mondays and Tuesdays. Also ask about homeschool days, which many places offer at drastically reduced admission prices.
